Date line: Saturday, December 12, 2026 · 3:00 PM · Queensborough Performing Arts Center
For nine years, this Kwanzaa Celebration has brought families, students and artists together to honor the heritage, values and creativity of the African Diaspora. This year, we're taking the work to a higher level.
Higher Level puts the next generation of performing artists at the center. Young dancers, musicians and storytellers step onto a professional stage with high expectations and the responsibility to carry the tradition forward. It's a celebration, and it's a commitment to the artists who will lead what comes next.
Amazing performances from some of the best and brightest performing arts programs in New York City, showcasing the most promising young talent in Queens. Rooted in traditional West African and Caribbean dance and music, including Senegalese Sabar, the program brings the seven principles of Kwanzaa to life on stage.
